4 Easy Croissant Sandwich Recipes for Any Occasion

croissant sandwich recipes

Some recipes become favorites because they’re fancy, and others become favorites because they’re just so easy and everyone loves them. These croissant sandwich recipes definitely fall into the second category. I’ve made different versions of these sandwiches for parties and gatherings over the years, and they’re one of those dependable meals I can make without spending hours in the kitchen.

I usually pick up a package of the large croissants from Costco, make one or two of these simple fillings, and fill those croissants nice and full.

Add a fruit salad and a bowl of chips, and you’ve got such an easy meal. If it’s a party or family gathering, I also love serving these with one of my Dirty Soda recipes.

Easy, delicious, and very little fuss. That’s my kind of party food.

Why I Love These Croissant Sandwich Recipes

One of my favorite things about these croissant sandwich recipes is how easy they are to change depending on who I’m feeding.

I can make classic egg salad, ham and egg salad, chicken salad, or tuna salad. For a bigger gathering, I might even make a couple of different kinds and arrange them together on a platter.

The buttery Costco croissants make even the simplest filling feel a little special, which is why I especially love these sandwiches for showers, birthday parties, family get-togethers, luncheons, and other casual gatherings.

Best of all, the fillings can be made ahead of time and refrigerated until you’re ready to put the sandwiches together.

Egg Croissant Sandwich Recipe

This is about as simple as it gets, and there really isn’t a wrong way to make it.

Ingredients

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • Relish

Directions

Peel and mash the hard-boiled eggs. Add mayonnaise, mustard, and relish to taste.

Start with a little mayonnaise and add more until the egg salad is as creamy as you like it.

Spoon generously onto sliced croissants and serve.

Ham and Egg Croissant Sandwich Recipe

The ham version starts with the same simple egg salad, then you add canned ham.

Ingredients

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Canned ham
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • Relish

Directions

Mash the peeled hard-boiled eggs and mix in the canned ham. Add mayonnaise, mustard, and relish to taste.

You can use as much or as little ham as you’d like. That’s one of the things I love about these croissant sandwich recipes. You really don’t need exact measurements.

Just mix, taste, adjust, and enjoy.

Chicken Croissant Sandwich Recipe

This might be my favorite one to dress up a little bit.

Ingredients

  • Canned chicken
  • Mayonnaise
  • Craisins, optional
  • Chopped apples, optional
  • Chopped nuts, optional

Directions

Drain the chicken well and break it apart with a fork. Stir in enough mayonnaise to reach the consistency you like.

For a really simple chicken salad, you can stop right there.

But I especially love adding Craisins, chopped apples, and nuts. They add a little sweetness and crunch that is so good with the buttery croissants.

If I’m serving a crowd, I either leave out the nuts or make sure everyone knows which sandwiches contain them.

Tuna Croissant Sandwich Recipe

Tuna is another really simple option and one of the easiest croissant sandwich recipes to put together.

Ingredients

  • Canned tuna
  • Mayonnaise

Directions

Drain the tuna really well and mix it with mayonnaise to taste.

That’s it!

Of course, if your family has favorite tuna salad additions, go ahead and add them. These recipes are meant to be flexible.

My Trick for Easy-to-Peel Hard-Boiled Eggs

If you’re making the egg or ham and egg croissant sandwich recipes, I have one little trick that makes a big difference.

Bring your water to a boil before adding the eggs.

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the eggs and a little vinegar. Turn the burner down to low and cook the eggs for about 10 to 12 minutes.

As soon as they’re done, transfer them directly into an ice-water bath.

Then peel them once they’ve cooled.

I have found that starting the eggs in boiling water and putting them immediately into an ice bath makes them so much easier to peel.

Trust me on this one.

There’s nothing quite like trying to peel a hard-boiled egg and watching half of your egg disappear with the shell.

How I Serve These Croissant Sandwich Recipes for Parties

This is one of those meals I come back to again and again when I’m feeding people because I don’t have to make everything complicated.

My easy party menu is usually:

  • Croissant sandwiches
  • Fruit salad
  • Chips
  • Dirty Sodas

That’s it.

You have something filling, fresh fruit, something crunchy, and a fun drink.

I’ll often make the sandwich filling ahead of time and keep it refrigerated. Then I can slice and fill the croissants closer to serving time so they stay fresh.

For a larger gathering, make two or three different fillings and arrange the sandwiches together on a platter. You can also cut those big Costco croissants in half if you want smaller portions or you’re serving several other foods.

A Few Tips for These Croissant Sandwich Recipes

These recipes are very forgiving, so don’t worry about exact measurements.

If you love mustard, add a little more. If you like really creamy chicken salad, add more mayonnaise. If you’re making chicken salad and love Craisins, toss in an extra handful.

You can also skip the croissants entirely and use whatever bread you have. These fillings are delicious on fresh sandwich bread or toast too.

The one thing I don’t recommend is freezing the fillings. These types of salads don’t freeze particularly well. The FDA also has some helpful egg safety and storage guidelines if you’d like more information about safely storing hard-boiled eggs.

Instead, make approximately what you think you’ll eat within several days and store the leftover filling covered in the refrigerator.

One of My Favorite Easy Party Meals

Sometimes the recipes I make most often aren’t complicated recipes at all.

They’re the dependable ones.

These croissant sandwich recipes have become one of those staples for me because they’re easy to make, easy to change, and always seem to be a crowd pleaser.

Pick up some croissants, choose your favorite filling, toss together a fruit salad, open a bag of chips, and make a batch of Dirty Sodas.

You’ve got yourself a pretty delicious meal without spending the whole day in the kitchen.

And that means you actually get to enjoy the party too.

Making every house feel a little more like home.
