Three Small Gifts I Never Knew I Needed (Until I Couldn’t Live Without Them)

small gifts and favorite finds

As Christmas gets a little closer, I’ve started thinking about the small gifts I want to give my family and the people I love this year.

Whenever I start shopping, I inevitably end up doing something a little dangerous…

I open my Amazon order history.

Have you ever done that?

It’s like taking a little walk down memory lane. Some purchases immediately make me smile because they remind me of a special season of life or someone I love. Others leave me wondering, “What in the world was I thinking?” If only Amazon’s return policy lasted forever! (Although they are pretty generous, especially around Christmas!)

But as I kept scrolling through old orders, I realized something.

Some of the very best gifts I’ve purchased, or received, weren’t expensive or flashy.

They were simple things, small gifts, that quietly made everyday life better.

Today I wanted to share three of my favorites.

1. The Small Gift of a Hair Brush I’ll Never Be Without

If you’ve ever battled tangled hair, you know how painful brushing it can be.

Then I found this brush.

It glides through my hair without pulling or hurting my head, even when my hair has become a tangled mess.

But what makes me love it even more is the memory attached to it.

A few years ago, we were visiting my brother and his family in Germany. My sweet niece needed a hairbrush, so I happily gave her mine.

When I got home, I immediately ordered another one for myself…and then another…and another.

Before long, all of my kids had one too!

Sometimes the smallest gifts become the ones everyone in the family ends up loving.

2. The Small Gift of Lotion That Finally Fixed My Dry Hands

f you’ve ever lived in the western United States, especially the Northwest or Southwest, you probably know just how dry the air can be.

For years I struggled with painfully dry skin.

The worst place?

My hands.

They would crack, bleed, and hurt constantly, especially during the colder months. Between washing dishes, baking, and cleaning, my hands never seemed to have a chance.

Then I found this lotion.

I honestly wasn’t expecting miracles, but it completely changed things for me.

Now, as long as I remember to put it on regularly, my hands stay soft and healthy. The only time I really notice the dryness anymore is when I forget to use it.

Isn’t that always how it works? 😂

It’s one of those products that I quietly recommend whenever someone mentions dry skin because it has made such a difference for me.

3. The Small Gift of Slippers I Replace Every Year

These might seem like a funny gift recommendation…

But I absolutely love these slippers.

In fact, I wear them so much that I usually replace them about once a year.

If you’ve followed me for very long, you know I spend a lot of time in my kitchen baking, cooking, and experimenting with new recipes. I’m on my feet for hours at a time, and these slippers make all the difference.

They’re incredibly comfortable, they keep my feet warm, and they come in so many cute colors that it’s hard to choose just one.

They’re one of those everyday luxuries that make ordinary moments just a little cozier.

Sometimes the Best Gifts Are the Small Gifts We Use Every Day

Trying to juggle just a few bottles of lotion…
and apparently making my best surprised face while I’m at it! 😂

Looking back through my order history reminded me that the gifts I’ve appreciated most haven’t always been the biggest or most expensive.

Sometimes they’re small gifts, the simple things that quietly make life easier every single day.

A brush that doesn’t pull your hair.

A lotion that finally heals dry hands.

A pair of slippers that makes standing in the kitchen while baking cookies feel just a little more comfortable.

Those aren’t the gifts people usually get excited about on Christmas morning.

But months later…

The small gifts are often the ones we’re still using.

I’d love to hear from you!

What’s one of the simple, small gifts you’ve received that turned out to be something you use almost every day? Let me know in the comments. I’m always looking for new favorite finds!
