Sometimes my favorite Amazon finds aren’t anything particularly exciting.
They’re the simple things I buy for one little spot in my house, put them up, and then realize a couple of years later that I still love them just as much as when I bought them.

That’s exactly how I feel about these floating wall shelves.
A couple of years ago, I purchased the Amazon Basics Wood Floating Wall Shelves, and I ended up liking them so much that I bought two sets. Mine are black, and I’ve used them to display all kinds of cute little decorations, including fun treats and things in my Harry Potter entertainment room.
They’re simple, they’re a great size, and after a couple of years of using them, I’ve had absolutely no problems with them.
Sometimes that’s really all I need from a Favorite Find.
Floating Wall Shelves That Are Just the Right Size
One of the things I like most about these floating wall shelves is their size.
Each shelf measures about 15.8 inches long and 5 inches deep. They’re not meant to be a giant storage shelf, and that’s actually why I like them so much.
They’re just big enough for a couple of cute decorations without giving me another huge surface I feel like I need to fill.
I can add a few things I love, and that’s it.
Sometimes a little shelf with two or three cute things on it is all an empty wall needs.
I Love Using Them in My Harry Potter Entertainment Room
One of my favorite places I’ve used these floating wall shelves is in my Harry Potter entertainment room.
I’ve had so much fun using them to display cute decorations and even some fun treats that go along with the room.
Because I bought the shelves in black, they work especially well in there. They’re simple enough that they don’t compete with whatever I put on them. The decorations get to be the fun part.
I also like being able to change what’s displayed whenever I feel like it.
If you have a themed room, a collection you love, or even seasonal decorations you like to change throughout the year, little shelves like these give you a fun place to display them without taking up any floor space.

Here’s something that should tell you a little about how easy they are to install.
I put them up myself.
LOL.
I am definitely not going to claim that hanging shelves is one of my hidden talents, so the fact that I managed these on my own says quite a bit.
The shelves come with the mounting hardware, and each one attaches using steel brackets.
You’ll obviously want to measure carefully and make sure you’re using the proper mounting method for your wall, especially if you’re planning to put anything heavy on them.
But overall, I thought they were fairly easy to put up.
And considering I went back and purchased a second set, apparently the installation experience didn’t scare me too badly!
They’ve Held Up Really Well
This is probably the most important part of any Favorite Find I share.
I don’t just want something that looks cute when I first get it.
I want it to still be something I like after I’ve actually lived with it.
I’ve owned these floating wall shelves for a couple of years now, and I’ve had no problems whatsoever.
They’ve stayed in place, they’ve done exactly what I wanted them to do, and I’ve been very happy with them.
According to the product information, each shelf can hold up to 20 pounds when properly installed. Mine mostly hold decorations and fun little things, so I haven’t come anywhere close to testing that limit.
I’m perfectly happy letting mine have the very important job of holding cute things.
The Floating Wall Shelves Come in Three Colors
I purchased mine in black, but these shelves are available in three different colors.
I love having that choice because not every room needs a black shelf.
Depending on your decorating style and where you’re planning to put them, you can choose the finish that works best with your space.
For my room, though, I’d choose black all over again.
I Liked Them Enough to Buy Two Sets
Maybe the simplest way I can tell you how I feel about these shelves is this:
I bought another set.
Each package comes with three floating wall shelves, and I now have two sets.
And if I had more room for them?
I’d probably buy more.
I think that says more than any fancy product description ever could.
They’re simple little shelves that have held up well, were fairly easy for me to install, and give me the perfect place to display a couple of things I love.
They’re not going to completely transform your house.
But they might give you a cute little spot to display something that makes you happy.
And honestly, those are often my very favorite kinds of finds.
Making every house feel a little more like home.
